Hebron's Memorial/Homecoming Day and 50th Anniversary Celebration
May 21st, 2017 at Hebron was a day of remembrance of our loved ones and veterans who are no longer with us. It was a day of homecoming filled with a sense of excitement, laughter, fellowship, and delicious food. It was good to hear Rev. Bill Bumgardner as he reminisced about the sadness of tearing down the beloved old white frame church and about the joy of watching the construction of the new building. He shared many fond memories of Hebron. Most importantly was his recall of the Holy Sprit’s presence and unity within Hebron’s congregation as he emphasized the importance of the Holy Spirit as part of the Three in One. He closed by leaving us with the thought in mind to examine ourselves and to be sure that we still feel that presence at Hebron.
Rev. Bumgardner also led us in our afternoon 50th Anniversary Celebration. Recollection of Life at Hebron during the past 50 years was enjoyed as many individuals shared remembrances. A framed collage picturing pastors at Hebron from 1967-2017 was presented and is now hanging in the vestibule. Our building was rededicated and our youth group buried a time capsule to be opened in 50 years.
