Hebron United Methodist Women
The Purpose of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a
community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as
whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive
fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the
global ministries of the church.
The Hebron UMW unit is a member of the Burlington District
United Methodist Women. The unit has 39 members and is currently made up of two
circles that meet monthly. The unit meets approximately four times per year and
holds executive committee meetings four times per year. Members of the unit
support many mission projects that help women and children locally and in the
United States and around the world. Each circle has a main fund raiser to
support missions.
Circle #2 meets the third Monday of each month at 12 noon in the
church fellowship hall. No meeting is held in July. The meeting begins with
fellowship over a bag lunch followed by a program, prayer and ending with a
business meeting, Circle #2 sells vanilla flavoring to support mission projects.
Friendship Circle meets the third Monday of each month at 7:00
p.m. The meeting location is announced in the church bulletin. Bible study is
held at each meeting along with fellowship and business meeting. The Friendship
Circle sells pecans at Christmas time to raise funds to support mission
projects.
